The vibrant city of Tulsa is excited to announce the 2023 Tulsa Juneteenth Festival, a dynamic celebration of freedom, culture, community, and wellness. Taking place from June 15th to June 17th, this annual event promises an unforgettable experience for attendees of all ages.

The festival proudly presents the Black Wall Street Pitch Competition, empowering aspiring Black entrepreneurs to pitch their innovative business ideas. With a $10,000 grand prize, this competition nurtures visionaries who can positively impact their communities. The competition will take place Thursday, June 15th.

The festival’s highlights include “In The Air,” a captivating art exhibition curated by Natalie Lauren. Showcasing diverse artists exploring themes of freedom and cultural identity. This exhibition offers a profound connection to African American culture and officially opens Friday, June 16th. Also taking place Friday is The Freedom Through Wealth, a homeownership initiative, supporting economic empowerment within the Black community. Through workshops and connections with real estate professionals, developers and home loan officers, this initiative promotes economic stability and generational wealth.

Saturday brings a great deal of fun and festivities, starting with our brand new 5k Run. Wellness is a focus of the festival, with not only the 5k and one-mile run but yoga, meditation, journaling and more. Wellness will take place at Guthrie Green on Saturday morning. Participants can embrace physical activity while celebrating unity and resilience. Families and children can also enjoy the annual Kids Zone at B.S. Roberts park from 11am-2pm, featuring live performances, interactive games, face painting, and giveaways. It’s a hub of excitement and fun for kids of all ages.

The festival’s entertainment lineup includes Valerie Harding, a standout local artist from season 22 of The Voice, performing on Friday night. On Saturday night, the legendary R&B group, The Whispers, will grace the stage, enchanting the audience with their timeless hits and smooth harmonies.
