The Trusting News Project

We’re Listening

The Oklahoma Eagle, in partnership with The Ecosystem Engagement Project, spearheaded by Oklahoma Media Center, has launched a campaign to create a stronger, more productive relationship with our readers.

We’re Focused

The Eagle’s participation in the Trusting News Project is focused on closely engaging the current and potential readers of the print and digital versions of The Eagle. Ultimately, we’d like to determine how much confidence you – our readers – have in the news that The Eagle publishes.

OKLAHOMA MEDIA CENTER

The Oklahoma Media Center’s mission is to support and strengthen Oklahoma’s local journalism ecosystem and spur innovation through statewide collaboration that benefits diverse audiences. A nonpartisan 501(c)(3), OMC includes more than 25 news outlets statewide, ranging from broadcast to nonprofit to Indigenous and Black-owned media outlets to longstanding newspapers. The statewide collaborative provides funding, best-practices training to elevate the industry and collaborative support to help bolster local newsrooms.

We’re Ready

The Oklahoma Eagle has created a Trusting News advisory team comprised of existing and potential readers from the Greater Tulsa Metropolitan Area and national markets. The broad spectrum of advisory team members offer unique perspectives of how well we cover issues, the depth and credibility of reporting and areas for improvement.

FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES TO PARTICIPATE

The Oklahoma Eagle will open Trusting News advisory team enrollment on a rolling basis throughout the year. If you would like to share your interest in joining team, please reach out to us via email at Trusting News

We’re Engaged

Trusting News advisory team members receive a digital newsletter each week, featuring select stories for review. All newsletters include a link to a brief survey.
As our goal is to progressively strengthen the trust and confidence of readers, The Eagle will review all provided feedback each week and determine how future stories may incorporate reader recommendations, questions and/or comments.

ACCESSIBILITY

The weekly newsletter and related survey have been designed to accommodate most digital device platforms, to ensure that you are able to engage The Eagle using a preferred device.
