City Hall, Other Facilities To Close Monday For Labor Day; Residential Trash Service Will Operate On Holiday

City Hall and other City facilities will be closed Monday, September 7, for Labor Day. Public safety and mission critical operations, however, will operate as normal. Residents who need assistance with a water or sewer problem may call the following 24-hour emergency numbers: water – (918) 596-9488, and sewer – (918) 586-6999.

Refuse, recycling, yard waste and bulky waste will be collected on Monday, September 7. This is a change new for this year. The schedule has changed for which holidays will not have trash service. Beginning this year, trash service will operate on Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4), and Labor Day. The only holidays when trash will not be picked up will be Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

The City of Tulsa mulch site, 2100 N. 145th E. Ave., will be closed on Monday, September 7. It will reopen on Tuesday, September 8, and resume its usual schedule: seven days a week, 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The City of Tulsa Animal Welfare Shelter at 3031 N. Erie Ave. will be closed on Monday, September 7, and will reopen on Tuesday, September 8, to resume its usual schedule. The shelter’s usual hours are noon to 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, closed Wednesday for furlough through December; noon to 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Animal adoptions and drop-offs are currently by appointment only due to COVID-19; call (918) 596-8001 for adoptions and (918) 596-7387 for intakes.

Tulsa Parks recreation centers will be closed on Monday, September 7. Red Bud Valley Nature Preserve and the Oxley Nature Center visitors’ center will also be closed on Monday.

Tulsa Transit will not provide bus service on Labor Day.
