Mayor Bynum Names New Tulsa Police Chief

Maj. Wendell Franklin will be Tulsa’s next police chief.

The city announced Wednesday that Franklin will succeed retiring chief Chuck Jordan.

Franklin and the other three finalists all came from within the department. Franklin currently oversees the department’s headquarters division.

Franklin has been with the department since 1997.

Jordan retires at the end of the month.

Franklin will be Tulsa’s 40th police chief.
