The 100 Black Men of America, Tulsa chapter, is hosting a membership drive on June 28, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m., at the Gilcrease Hills Homeowners Association Club House, 1919 W. Seminole.
At the membership drive, a free fish fry, including cole slaw, hush puppies and beverages, will be available. Cards, dominoes and pool will be available for entertainment.
Forms will be available to apply for local and national membership.
“We want to invite the men in the community to join us as we make a difference in the lives of young people,” said David Harris, president of the organization.
During the year, the BMOT supports programs and activities for young men and women in the community, including a summer youth entrepreneur shadowing program. The goal of BMOT is to provide opportunities for young people that will contribute to their personal growth and professional development.

The 100 Black Men of America, Tulsa chapter seeks to serve as a beacon of leadership by utilizing the diverse talents of its membership to create environments where children are motivated to achieve, and to empower people to become self-sufficient shareholders in the economic and social fabric of the communities that the organization serves.
In addition to the membership drive, the chapter sponsors the annual Marvin Blades Commemorative Golf Tournament, a scholarship and awards gala, essay contests, school supplies, field trips, and other programs and activities to support its annual programming for students in elementary, middle and high school, in college and other young boys and girls.
The national organization, 100 Black Men of America, Inc., is to improve the quality of life within our communities and enhance educational and economic opportunities for all African Americans. The national organization is committed to the intellectual development of youth and the economic empowerment of the African American community based on the following precepts: Respect for Family, Spirituality, Justice and Integrity. The national organization’s motto is “What They See Is What They’ll Be”.
