Aero will bring Tulsa a premium public transit service that provides faster and more frequent service with enhanced vehicles, stations and rider amenities. The Aero route is nearly 18 miles and will service Peoria Avenue from East 54th Street North to East 81 st and South Lewis Avenue.
The high-capacity transit line will connect people to jobs and downtown destinations. The Peoria Avenue Corridor was the top transit priority in the City of Tulsa’s 2010 Comprehensive Plan, PLANiTULSA as one in seven of Tulsa’s residents and 20 percent of jobs are within a 10-minute walk of this corridor.
Capital and operational funding for the Peoria BRT will be shared between Improve Our Tulsa and Vision Tulsa funding packages. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2018, with the new system opening in spring 2019.
