A Texas school district is openly trying to recruit Oklahoma teachers.

The Fort Worth school district started putting up billboards Monday in Tulsa, Stillwater, Norman, and Oklahoma City.

The billboards read “Your future is in a Fort Worth classroom – teacher starting salary $52,000.”

The ads will go up across the state and stay until the beginning of next month.

Representatives with Tulsa Public Schools say they are choosing to stay committed to Tulsa teachers and students.

“Our superintendent walked with educators from here to Oklahoma City,” said Quentin Liggins.  “We are focused on those who are committed to our students.  Our educators in Oklahoma stepped up in a big way to show their commitment to working with Oklahoma students.”

The Fort Worth district says it’s that kind of commitment by teachers that they want for its classroom leaders.
