On Dec.19, 2016, The Tulsa School Board voted to approve The Met Cares Foundation’s application to create a partnership school. It was announced on Tuesday, Jan. 10, that Superintendent Gist has recommended that Academy Central Elementary School be the site for the partnership school. On Feb. 6, the school board will vote on the superintendent’s recommendation to make Academy Central the Foundation’s partnership school’s location.
Academy Central is in the heart of the Gilcrease Hills Community at 1789 West Seminole Street Tulsa, Okla.
The Foundation is chaired by Dr. Ray Owens, pastor of Tulsa Metropolitan Baptist Church (The Met). The Met Cares expects to open the school in the fall of 2017.
