Health and Safety Education Consultants, Anew Direction Healthcare Training, LLC, is owned and operated by two African American female Registered Nurses. Rickesha Clark, a native of Louisiana and Wendy Williams, a native of Illinois. Both received undergraduate nursing degrees from Historic Black Universities;
Clark and Williams said “We were trained to serve others and we have a passion for giving back to the community. There is a need for qualified training in entry level careers to healthcare, and we are providing this training in the heart of Tulsa.”
Trainings offered consists of Oklahoma State Nurse Aide Registry approved Certified Nurse Aide and Certified Medication Aide classes. Anew Direction also provides American Heart Association CPR Health Care Provider and Heart Saver courses, Medication Administration Technician (MAT) Training courses and individualized industrial health in-services for local companies.
The pair said “We are excited and honored to be celebrating one year of successful business. The excitement not only stems from completing a year of business, but even more important, we are thriving on the Historic Greenwood Avenue – Black Wall Street. It doesn’t get better than helping others start new careers and be able to provide for their families. The rich history of Tulsa and the Greenwood District adds to the endless possibilities of future businesses in the area and we are excited to be a part of this new era of innovation and growth”.
Join Anew Direction Friday, January 26 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., 130 N. Greenwood Ave., to celebrate this momentous occasion, refreshments will be provided by Tulsa Job Corps culinary arts students. Clark and Williams said, “we look forward to sharing this exciting event and sharing this with our students and the Tulsa community.”
