Former Tulsan Dr. Joseph Neville Cannon, 82, passed away on Sept. 9. Residing in Washington, D. C., he was a former distinguished professor at Howard University for more than four decades. Among his professional accomplishments, he was one of the founders of the historic National Association of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers.
Cannon is survived by his wife, Veronica Harris-Cannor; children, Devi Cannon Ramey, Dr. Changa Cannon of Tulsa, Erin Cannon-Wells, Arville Brock-Smith, and Bianca Adkins; nine grandchildren; two sisters; and a host of extended family, friends, and colleagues.
Services are scheduled at Ft. Lincoln Funeral Home in Brentwood, Md., on Oct. 2
