The Juice Radio Show is a group of young people who come from various Tulsa public schools every Thursday from 6 PM to 8 PM to do radio their way. Dial 646-716- 5525 and press the one button to talk on the air. The founder of this Internet radio station and radio show is Bobby Eaton.
Who is Bobby Eaton?
Eaton was born and raised in Tulsa. He is a musician who started playing bass guitar when he was about 12 years old. After playing locally alongside Charlie Wilson (Gap Band), Dino Vice, Bobby Giles and others, Eaton moved to Los Angeles. That was in the early 70s, and he played bass with Natalie Cole, Ike and Tina Turner, Bobby Womack, DJ Rogers and many others. Eaton said “Life as a musician has been incredible.” Now he is living another incredible life as a radio personality and mentor to Tulsa youths.
Reaching out to the community is not new for Easton. He is a long-time community activist. In 2012 after the Oklahoma Legislature cut Greenwood Cultural Center’s (GCC) funding, forcing the Center to cancel its children’s program, Eaton organized Tulsa We Funk, bringing together more than 50 artists to perform to support GCC.
In November 2016 Eaton was honored by the Leon Rollerson Education and Arts Honor Program.
The Bobby Eaton Show
Though there is music, The Bobby Eaton Show is primarily talk radio and airs 10 hours per week: the two-hour Juice show on Thursdays, and Mondays, Wednesdays. Fridays, from 6 PM to 8 PM and Saturdays from noon to 2 PM. The personalities for the latter time slots are Eaton and his co-host SynCeerae.
