Tyler Lockett Smashes Seattle Seahawks Reception Record

Tyler Lockett ended his 2020 season with the Seattle Seahawks as the most productive in his six (6) years in the National Football League.  In his last game against the San Francisco 49ers, Lockett had twelve (12) receptions, ninety (90) yards, and two (2) touchdowns.  His last toe tapping six (6) yard touchdown helped seal the victory.

In the San Francisco game, Lockett also set a new Seattle Seahawk reception record with one hundred (100) receptions. Lockett broke the existing record of ninety-four (94) receptions held by Pro Bowler Doug Baldwin and Seattle’s Bobby Engram who was selected to the Seattle Seahawks 35th Anniversary Team.

In the 2020 season, Lockett tallied one hundred (100) receptions, one thousand fifty-four yards (1,054), and ten (10 touchdowns.  He finished tied for seventh (7th) in the National Football League in receptions, seventeenth (17th) in yards with one thousand fifty-four (1,054), tied for eighth (8th) in touchdowns with ten (10). The six (6) year veteran recorded one hundred (100) receptions on one hundred thirty-two (132) targets giving him a catch ratio of 76% which finished eleventh (11th) best in the National Football League.

During his tenure with the Seahawks, Lockett has compiled three hundred seventy-six (376) receptions, four thousand eight-hundred ninety-two (4,892) yards, and thirty-seven (37) touchdowns.

In the last five (5) years, Lockett became one of only five (6) players in the NFL to record one hundred (100+) receptions, one thousand (1,000+) yards, and ten (10+) touchdowns in a season.  He was a Pro Bowl selection and first team All-Pro in 2015 and was a Pro Bowl alternate in 2016, 2017, and 2018.

Tyler’s younger brother Sterling has chosen to follow in his big brother’ footsteps and recently committed to play his college football at Kansas State University.  The 5’10” 165 lb. wide-out has outstanding hands, runs great routes, and has an excellent knowledge of the game.
