Tulsa Black Educators Salute Lavelle Dyer

Lavelle attended Oklahoma State University and obtained degrees in Vocational Home Economics, Physical Education, Health, and Safety, and Chemistry. She has served as the Physical Education teacher at Carver Middle School for several years. “I love teaching and getting to know my students. I pray that I make a POSITIVE difference in their lives”, Lavelle passionately states.

Aside from is blessing the youth with her wisdom, Lavelle is an active member at Friendship Church, she does catering for David Phillips 640, volunteers to feed the homeless, and serves with the food bank. In her free time, she enjoys walking and random acts of kindness. She also loves spending time with family and friends especially, her precious grand babies.

One of Lavelle’s favorite scriptures is Phillipians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” Her strength, kind spirit, and passion has definitely blessed many people in this community.
