Tulsa’s City Council is set to hear a proposal mandating face masks on Wednesday, July 15th.
Mayor G.T. Bynum presented the city council with his mask ordinance proposal on Tuesday.
The proposed ordinance said people must wear a mask in any indoor or outdoor public space where it’s not possible to physically distance. The ordinance has exceptions for include people under the age of 18, those attending church, medical disabilities, if you’re eating or drinking, exercising outside, driving, swimming, voting, giving a speech, or working where a mask could be a hazard.
Violations will receive a misdemeanor and a fine of up to $100 after a first warning.
