Historic Vernon AME Church & Terence Crutcher Foundation To Host 2nd Annual MLK Day Celebration

The Terence Crutcher Foundation in partnership with Historic Vernon AME Church will host its 2nd Annual MLK Day Celebration.  This year’s theme is “We Shall Overcome”.

The event will feature the North Tulsa Community Choir and Keynote speaker, Mr. Omar Neal, former Mayor of Historic Tuskegee, AL. Omar Neal is a distinguished graduate of the Montgomery Police Academy. Former Mayor Neal’s career includes him serving as a policeman as well as a juvenile court counselor. He also penned the proposal that established the Youth Aide Division of the Tuskegee Police Department, subsequently serving as the department’s founding director.

Mr. Charles Harper and Ms. Damali Wilson will be honored with the 2020 MLK Trailblazer Awards for their service and dedication to the community. The 36th Street North Event Center which they lead and operate has been nominated Tulsa’s Best Midsized Venue of the Year. Please honor them and their work by voting at www.tulsamusicawards.com. The event will be held at the Historic Vernon AME Church under the leadership of Dr. Robert Turner and begins at 6:00 pm.
