[Tulsa, OK, December 2018] With so many options, how do Tulsa parents choose a good school for their children? Will Rogers College Junior and Senior High School will host a Showcase on December 12, 2018, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM in its beautiful, historic auditorium to share the college preparatory programs Rogers has to offer for students in grades 7 – 12. Parents will learn about Rogers’ wide-range of academics, athletics, and extracurricular opportunities available to students. The Showcase is designed both for families who have already completed their application as well as those still considering their options.
Since 2011, Rogers’ combined schools have provided students grades 7 – 12 a college preparatory educational program geared at preparing students to get to and through college. High school juniors and seniors who have qualifying grades and test scores may enroll in Tulsa Community College dual-credit classes offered on Rogers’ campus. Additionally, all Rogers’ high school students take Advanced Placement classes and may attend Tulsa Tech classes while simultaneously attending high school. Since Will Rogers has no attendance boundaries, any Tulsa City resident may attend the school if they complete an application and are accepted.
All prospective students must complete an online application by December 21, 2018, to enter the Lottery. Prospective Rogers’ junior high students do not need to meet any academic requirement. Rogers’ high school students must have a 2.0 GPA and a near grade-level reading score. To help with last-minute on-line applications, Rogers’ faculty and staff will have an Enrollment Assistance – Open Lab night on December 20, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. For those who speak Spanish or need assistance with using a computer to complete the transfer process, assistance will be available. Parents should bring photo identification and proof of residency. Assistance will also be provided to those parents do not have a working e-mail address.
Families who wish to tour the school are invited to visit Rogers on Saturday, December 15 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Rogers ROTC students will conduct tours. For nearly 80 years, Will Rogers has been one of Tulsa’s hidden treasures. Come and learn more about Tulsa’s “best-kept secret.”
