Autumn Penny Receives KIDZ BIZZ KONFERENCE 2024 Leadership Award

The Oklahoma Eagle Newswire

Autumn Penny is the recipient of the Kidz Bizz Konference 2024 Leadership Award! She has earned the $1000 cash award for consistently displaying leadership qualities among peers during her Tulsa, Oklahoma Kidz Bizz Konference attendance over the past seven years.

Autumn, an Oklahoma Native, is currently enrolled as a freshman student at Prairie View A & M in the state of Texas. She is a 2024 graduate of KIPP Tulsa University Prep High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she graduated with honors and was also crowned Queen as 2024’s Miss KIPP. She attended as a dual credit student completing classes at Tulsa Community College while attending high school. Autumn also contributed as a KIPP athlete in basketball and soccer. At a younger age, Tulsa saw her shine on the rodeo scene, becoming a 2016 barrel racing champion. The daughter of Jeremy and Cassey Penny and Sherrell Peters, Autumn has been loved, nurtured and supported towards realizing her self-worth and maximizing her potential. Her parents, grandparents and extended family have all expressed that they are tremendously proud of her. Throughout the years that Autumn attended the Kidz Bizz Konference, she was consistently chosen by peers to assist, create and lead! Most often she was the winner of competitions. Her light shone brightly and served as the ignition to light the spark for enabling courage, confidence, vision and abilities to flourish within her peers. She not only showed up as  a leader but she helped in creating  them as well. That is a characteristic of true leadership! We are very proud of Autumn.

Tulsa’s edition of  Kidz Bizz Konference (Coming Home With A Purpose) is an empowerment conference for children (founded by BTW graduates Corneta Kelley-Mensah and Sundi (Kelley) Williams), that focuses on teaching and enlightening youth regarding the cultivation of entrepreneurship and career planning. The Tulsa conference was always held during the Booker T. Washington Homecoming weekend in conjunction with other BTW Homecoming and Alumni Events as well as with consistent support from One Tulsa (Fred and Shiphaney Jones) and the Black Wall Street Liquid Lounge (Guy and Yvette Troupe). Community support has always been overwhelming and has allowed the participants to attend the conference free of charge year after year.
