Quincy Monday (Princeton, N.J./New Jersey RTC/Titan Mercury WC) has been named the USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week, presented by U.S. Air Force Special Warfare, on July 10, 2024.

Monday put on an exception performance at the always-tough Grand Prix of Spain held over the weekend in Madrid. He posted a 4-0 record against international competition, without surrounding a single match point, to claim the 74 kg gold medal.

In the championship contest, Monday earned a 2-0 win over Paris Olympic qualifier and 2023 Pan American Games bronze medalist Anthony Montero Chirinos of Venezuela. He also earned a respectable 11-0 win over Canadian Adam Thomson, who himself was a 2023 Pan American Games bronze medalist and two-time World Championships representative, in the semifinals. His preliminary round wins came 11-0 over Nico Zard of Malta and 5-0 against experience Polish athlete Szymon Wojtkowski.

Monday has gone on a solid Senior-level run in recent months, starting with a bronze medal performance at the 2023 Bill Farrell Memorial International, followed by a title run at the 2023 U.S. Senior Nationals, which qualified him for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials.
