The first shipment of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine arrived in the state of Oklahoma on today, according to officials.
State and local officials are making the announcement during a press conference on Dec. 14th at 1:30 p.m. at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Last week, Oklahoma State Department of Health leaders and health experts announced the coronavirus Vaccine Priority Groups.
Officials said the first doses will be given to frontline healthcare workers who have cared for Oklahomans since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
This is a monumental moment for caregivers at INTEGRIS Health and across the state, many of whom have been working on the frontlines since the very beginning of the pandemic. To them, the vaccine is a sign of hope that we are finally turning the corner and there is an end in sight to this devastating virus. They are honored to be among the first to receive the vaccination and eager to instill trust that the vaccine is safe for the public.
