Members of the Tulsa County legal community say they’re volunteering their knowledge to help local protest and march organizers.
“Attorneys are in a unique position, they see the unbalanced system on a daily basis,” volunteer lawyers wrote in a release Thursday.
“They see how People of Color (POC), particularly Black persons, are treated differently by law enforcement.”
The legal community says they’ll be offering guidance and presenting webinars to citizens who want to know more about the First Amendment including their rights to peacefully assemble and redress their grievances.
Volunteers will be led by Harold Epperson-Thompson, Luis Flores, Laurie Phillips, and Christina Funderburk.
A new conference is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Thursday to announce the plan for guidance.
