Kia Motors’ Super Bowl ad features Tulsa’s Josh Jacobs, who has risen from homelessness as a child to star running back with the Oakland Raiders.
The spot, which a Kia spokesman says was filmed in Tulsa, features Jacobs sharing words of inspiration with his “younger self.” Watch the ad in the video player above.
Jacobs was homeless for part of his childhood but found his path to a better life in football. He earned his way to play for the Alabama Crimson Tide and then became a first-round pick last year in the NFL.

“My path hasn’t been an easy one, and I hope together we can help and inspire the next generation,” Jacobs wrote in an Instagram post Wednesday.
The Kia ad shines the light on youth homelessness.
Kia will donate $1,000 for every yard gained during the Super Bowl to charities focused on helping homeless youth, including Positive Tomorrows, which bills itself as “Oklahoma’s only elementary school specifically for homeless children.”
Covenant House and StandUp for Kids will also receive Kia’s donations. Learn more here.
