Chef JV Vaughan delights in preparing great meals for people that not only taste great but enlighten their spirit and soul also.
Chef JV was born in Sand Springs, Okla., on May 3, 1973, having grown up in the Tulsa metro area he graduated from Metro Christian Academy in 1991. Chef JV then went on to attend Drury University in Missouri.
Chef JV was classically trained in Missouri, Arizona and Oklahoma and is one of a handful of Black executive chefs in downtown Tulsa. Chef JV has specialized in opening restaurants, clubs, lounges and bars (18 total), he has over 20 television appearances and cooks for athletes, celebrities, artist, musicians and models.
When Chef JV is in Tulsa, he is a consulting chef partner and executive chef at The Rabbit Hole Bar & Grill. Chef JV also directs artist relations and hospitality director for Subkulture.com
He is also a chef partner for Native Gardens Foods and teaches a Culinary Class at Metro Christian Academy for middle school and is an annual Chef Guest for OKC/Tulsa Women of Color Expo.
Chef JV stated, “The Rabbit Hole is a live music venue that features local and regional artist. We offer chef inspired approachable cuisine and libations in a fun environment. Tulsa is my home. I love the people. I know where we came from and, I want to be a driving force to pave the way to where we are going. This used to be a thriving black community – I want to be part of the reason we make it back.”
