A Quarter Century Of Service Emily Harris Celebrates Modern Woodmen Service To Community

Emily Harris, Branch Manager of the Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial Services Office in the historic Greenwood District, celebrated twenty-five years of service to Modern Woodmen of America (MWA) at the Goodwin/Chappelle Gallery in the Greenwood Cultural Center with family, friends and clients. 

The celebration was led by Mistress of Ceremony, Cindy Hatcher, founder of Uniquely You, a life coach and mentorship program for girls age 9-18 and Co-Pastor of International Outreach Ministry & Training Center. The gallery was filled with music provided by Marcus Johnson, fun games, food and thank-yous from clients and community partners. Special greetings were brought by Grady Hurst, Oklahoma Regional Director of Modern Woodmen; Barbara Thompson, founder of Trabar Communications, LLC; Tim Smallwood, owner of Tropical Smoothie Group; Ken Holman, Senior Vice President of Sodexo Magic, and Don Thompson, owner of Don Thompson Images.

Harris has over forty-five years of experience in the financial services industry and twenty-five years with Modern Woodmen of America. She has positively impactedher clients and the Tulsa Community through service that improve the quality oflife for all their volunteer services to include Parkside Food Pantry, AngelTree toy donation, Carver Service Center, band uniforms for Booker T.Washington High School, Mount Zion Baptist Church’s Health Fair and manyothers. She has served on numerous boards in leadership positions to includeTulsa Human Rights Commission, and Tulsa YWCA. Emily has received a number ofprofessional and community honors and awards, a graduate of Oklahoma State andholder of many professional designations to include Series 7 Certification.

Harris said, “My services go beyond making sure my members have life insurance protection or the right retirement plan in place. I am there for them and their families as life changes, sometimes for the good, sometimes for the worse. My members are like my family, and the trust and peace of mind I am able to give them makes this career so rewarding.”
