Tulsa Amateur Boxers Compete In Dallas Tournament

Eight Tulsa amateur boxers are competing in the “5th Annual Battle in Big D,” a USA Boxing sanctioned event hosted by the Dallas PAL (Police Activities League) Friday, July 13-Sunday, July 15, at the Centennial Hall at Fair Park in Dallas, Texas.

Twenty-three year old Neida Ibarra (bronze medalist 2018 Golden Gloves National Tournament, 125 lbs) and her 25-year-old brother Kevin Ibarra (152 lbs) from Tulsa Boxing Gym and Jeremiah Milton (2017 Ringside World Champion, 24 yrs, 201+lbs), Andre Brown (2016 & 2017 Ringside World Champion, 23 yrs,152 lbs), Eddie Oaks  (31 yrs, 152 lbs), Ronald Gamble  (27 yrs,178 lbs), Alycia Hawkins (25 yrs, 125 lbs) and Jaque McLendon (26 yrs,165 lbs) from the Engine Room will compete alongside close to 700 amateur fighters from across the country. Ringside Champion Belts will be awarded in all categories.

“All of our Tulsa boxers have been training hard for this tournament,” said Engine Room Coach Aaron Sloan. “This is a really popular and competitive event. We’re looking forward to bringing home some championship belts from Dallas.”
