Ruby L. Cato Eaton, passed on Monday, June 4, 2018 after succumbing to a brief illness.
Ruby, the eleventh of twelve girls and the daughter of the late A. C. and Gertrude Cato, matriculated through Tulsa Public Schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School’s Class of 1955.
Mrs. Eaton was a 32 year Health Professional at both Moton Comprehensive Health Center and Morton Health Center.
She was a breast cancer survivor and a member of Soulful Survivors and the Hutcherson YMCA Water Aerobics program.
Ruby had a big heart and played an instrumental role in helping many in various life situations.
Her love for people and that warm and infectious smile was personality personified. She was also known to tell a good joke or two!Known for her love of fashion, Ruby was a “diva fashionista” and was known for being a “beautiful black blonde” along with her signature meticulously maintained and decorated nails.
Ruby was an excellent cook and made a “mean” German chocolate cake and her “old fashioned tea cookies.”
Her motto was: “Baby when you’re 81, you can do what you want to!!”
A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, June 9, 2018, 4p to 7, at the Greenwood Cultural Center, 322 N. Greenwood Avenue.
