Brandee Presley is undoubtedly “The Fastest Woman in Oklahoma”. Last Saturday afternoon Presley broke the previous state record of 11:48 set by Carissa Levingston of Midwest City running an impressive 11:44 with plenty left in her tank.
“There’s were no days off,” said Bixby’s Brandee Presley. “I knew I had to train harder than the next person. I often thought about that one person that’s in the weight room, working harder than me and that made me go harder.
Hard work and dedication to her sport has paid off Presley will be attending Ole Miss University in the fall on a full 4-year track scholarship.
Her father Arthur Presley ran in the state meet, her sister Britney has the second fastest 60-meter dash time in Oklahoma State University history and her brother Brennan is a multiple-sport athlete for the Bixby Spartans.
Her freshman year, she injured her shin. Her sophomore year, she injured her thigh. Both came during the regionals. Finally, in her senior year, coming into the state tournament, she’s was healthy and ready to go.
“It took a toll on me because I know I work hard for everything,” she said. “To see that the injury is what stopped me from giving it 100 percent in the previous years at the state meets hurt a lot. But I didn’t let it stop me. This year I was healthy, and I could run hard and that meant a lot to me.”
Healthy is a very humble way to say it Brandee Presley is “The Fastest Woman in Oklahoma”.
