The 2018 McLain Athletic Hall of Fame Dinner, Silent Auction and Induction Ceremony was held on the Friday the 27th of April at the Southern Hills Marriot in Tulsa, Okla. The 2018 inductees were John Watson, Johnny Craven, James “Quik” Tillis, and Joey McLaughlin. All of proceeds from the ticket and silent auctions sales went to benefit the McLain Athletic Department.
Johnny Craven one of the greatest basketball players ever to come out of Tulsa north. Cravens amazing skills and poise were always on point. Many remember his incredible shooting and superior ball handling skills. Craven went on to attend the University of Tulsa where he was a stellar athlete also.
Craven is a testament to the value of Tulsa north’s student athlete’s professionalism and achievements. He was Coached by Mike Bolton a stern disciplinarian and true mentor to many young men that attended Raymond S. McLain High School.
Craven stated; “I want to thank all of my family and friends who came out to celebrate my induction into the McLain High School Hall of Fame. I am truly blessed by this honor and owe everything to my Heavenly Father who blessed me to play the game of basketball. I want to thank my great teammates who helped me to receive this honor. I also want to thank you Mike Bolton for giving me a chance to display my skills and for mentoring me. God places people in your life to help you develop and grow and I thank God for you.”
