Rep. Goodwin Seeks Re-Election

Oklahoma State Representative Regina Goodwin seeks Re-Election to House District 73 -Tulsa. The 2018 filing period is April 11- April 13.  Rep. Goodwin, a Democrat, first won the seat in a July 2015 special election. She won re-election in Nov. 2016.
In her first term, Rep. Goodwin authored House Bill 1357, and the Oklahoma Caregiver Act was signed into law.

Among her bills in progress this session are House Bill 3392 and HB 3393, both have passed off the house floor. HB 3392 prohibits the construction of dangerous barrier driveway curbs in senior citizen multi-family dwellings. HB 3393 recently passed 11-0, out of the senate Public Safety committee. The bill seeks to stop the shackling of pregnant incarcerated women during labor and childbirth.

Rep. Goodwin has authored three teacher pay raise bills; recently in March, she successfully championed and voted for the first teacher pay increase in ten years. The teacher minimum salary schedule increases by $5,000. Teacher pay raises vary from $5,000 to $8,395 depending on years taught, national board certification and academic degrees earned.

Rep. Goodwin states she stands with teachers during the historic marches on the state capitol in efforts to secure more funding for Oklahoma’s future. The Democratic primary election will be held June 26, 2018.
