Speaking to one of our civic leaders a few years ago he stated that one of the number one exports from Tulsa north was professional people; college graduates from our city that know the pulse of the community and are connected enough to be influential and persuasive to generations to come. Thank you for returning to your roots Jasmine Billingsley.
Billingsley is a positive, and influential young woman striving to make a difference in the Tulsa north community. From working with our youth, to encouraging others, it’s evident that she has touched so many lives.
Billingsley is a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa. She attended Langston University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and is set to receive her Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling this May.
Billingsley currently serves as the Admissions Coordinator and Recruiter for Langston University-Tulsa (LU-Tulsa) campus, and has worked with others among the LU-Tulsa faculty and staff to bring various events to the campus. In 2017, Billingsley coordinated the campus’ first Annual Back to School Event, Candy & Career Event, and Veteran’s Appreciation & Resource Fair.
Billingsley has served in many roles within the community prior to her service at LU. She was an educator for Tulsa Public Schools, a Dancercise instructor at the Greenwood Cultural center, a Servant leader intern & volunteer with the Children’s Defense Fund Freedom School organization, mentor, Wednesday night Bible class teacher, and much more.
Billingsley also works as a part time behavioral health case manager as she prepares to transition into a role as a therapist upon completion of graduate school. She has devoted her free time to visiting with various students and their families to assist them with applying for scholarships and completing college applications. She is often referred to as a very busy, on the go, charismatic, and motivational woman.
Billingsley has shown herself to be focused, determined, balanced, and a positive role model to those who persevere and build resilience. Billingsley is definitely an asset to the Tulsa North community.
