The Don’t Ask Why Dance Company launches with the debut performance of GESTALat Dance Industry Performing Arts Center6614 Communications Parkway, in Plano, Texas. The live contemporary arts dance production will premiere with two show times on Friday, Jan. 12 at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.  Don’t Ask Why Founder/Artistic Director, Avery-Jai Andrews, produces the show with new choreography that features the Keyhole Dance Project, a professional contemporary dance company from Padua, Italy, and collaborations with local artists.

Deeply rooted in the arts, Andrews is a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. After graduating from NYU, Andrews danced professionally and collaborated with artists in Italy, Israel and Germany. Those experiences were critical in her development of a crisp new style of contemporary in the dance genre, which she now brings to the Dallas arts scene.

GESTALT is the first professional performance in the White Theater, which was recently named after and dedicated in memory of Micaela D. White, best friend of Andrews, who  succumbed to leukemia at the age of 18. The White Theater is a state of the art, new black box performance space and the brainchild of Christy Wolverton-Ryzman, owner of Dance Industry Performing Arts Center.

Tickets to the dance production are $25 and are available through EVENTBRITE. For VIP seating or attendance to the VIP wine reception at 7:35 p.m., email contact@dontaskwhydance.com  or call 469-608-9201.
