What is your most memorable contribution as a Campus Queen?:
The most memorable contribution I have is the impact that has been made on the students, faculty, and administrators. The title of being named campus queen is merely just a platform for showcasing, but the real work takes place as one blends in with the student body.
Since I was a freshman I have been promoting the concept of my platform Be The Architect. Attending an HBCU has shown me that my peers and I share similar stories; low-income homes, first generation college student, and many people expected for us to fail and give up.
My platform promotes self-confidence, determination, and excellence. To lead by example is the best way to execute a concept of this matter. To be able to share my story about where I have come and just how I used my story to transform my career dreams into attainable goals.
To hear how the small deed of sharing my experience has inspired others to begin to change their mentality to do more than what is expected of them but to begin to put forth the work to transform their dreams into attainable goals, I feel is the most memorable contribution I could have made.
