Alpha Kappa Alpha 2017 Miss Fashionetta & Mr. Fashion Scholarship Cotillion Saturday At The University Of Tulsa

The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated (AKA) will present the 2017 Miss Fashionetta & Mr. Fashion Scholarship Cotillion “Celebrating a Royal Affair.” The event will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the University of Tulsa Allen Chapman Activity Center in Great Hall C which is located at 440 S Gary Ave., Tulsa, Okla. The cotillion will begin at 5:30 p.m.

AKA has sponsored Fashionetta for over forty-one years. The Chapter has awarded over $370,000.00 in scholarships to outstanding high school juniors and
seniors.
This Year AKA Presents The Following Fashionetta And Mr. Fashion Contestants

  • Brett Anderson, a senior at Riverfield Country Day School, is the son of Brett and Michelle Anderson.
  • Sydney Brown, a senior at Booker T. Washington High School, is the daughter of Ah’Toya Horton and Reginald Brown.
  • Cameron Douglas, a senior at Booker T. Washington High School, is the son of
    Steven and Angie Douglas.
  • Miracle Johnson, a senior at Central High School, is the granddaughter of Dorcas H. Johnson and the grandniece of Linda Thomas.
  • Chloe Smallwood, a junior at Booker T. Washington High School, is the daughter of Micah and Sharon Smallwood.

2017 Fashionetta TM Cotillion Master & Mistress of Ceremonies

Webster & Jerica Wortham are this year’s Master & Mistress of Ceremonies. Webster Wortham is a career advisor at Tulsa Tech and Jerica Wortham is the Owner/CEO of J Parlé.

The AKA Chapter was organized December 12, 1931, in Tulsa, Okla. Nine graduate Sorors chartered this chapter: Nannie C. Day, Gertie Berry Crawford, Algerita Jackson Hunter, Fostoria Logan Cain, Manila Darden Hickman, Dorothy Issac, Zelma Taylor Thompson, Earnestine A. Neeley Campbell and Alice B. Neeley Williams. The current president is Tracye Love Chandler.

AKA Sorority Incorporated is an international service organization that was founded on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. in 1908. It is the oldest Greek-letter sorority established by African-American college-educated women.
