The Oklahoma Eagle Newswire
Set in 1990’s Tulsa, Oklahoma, “Shades of White” explores the relationships between an Israeli immigrant, a former Ku Klux Klan member and their wives.
Narrow minded Dr. Whitehill and his crone of a wife, Birdie, are set in their miserable ways until Dr. Whitehill encounters Yossi, an openhearted Israeli musician who loves life. When Yossi invites the Whitehills to a ceremony at the Greenwood Cultural Center commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Tulsa Race Riot, the characters are forced to confront one another and their pasts. Painful truths are revealed. But when Reverend Jeremiah Browning III makes an unexpected appearance, there is hope for reconciliation.
Uplifting, humorous and ultimately hopeful, “Shades of White,” is a fast-paced seriocomedy that is relevant for our world today.
The performances will be held Friday November 10, and Saturday November 11 at 8 pm, and Sunday November 12 at 2 pm.
