TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — Former Tulsa police officer Betty Shelby will be working for the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office as an unpaid reserve deputy.
Sheriff Scott Walton with the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office said Shelby has been hired and there will be a news conference held Thursday morning.
Walton said Shelby went through the application process and a background check. She will be fully deputized and able to perform all duties including going out on patrol.

Shelby resigning from TPD came after she was acquitted of a manslaughter charged in May after she fatally shot Terence Crutcher. After her acquittal, she was not placed back on patrol with TPD.
