The Nevada Board of Parole members Connie S. Bisbee, Tony Corda, Susan Jackson, and Adam Endel granted O.J. Simpson parole from prison, after serving more than eight years, for his role in taking sports memorabilia from two men in a Las Vegas hotel room in 2007.

Simpson, an NFL running back during the 1970s, who was acquitted of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman in 1995, was found guilty, in 2008, of 12 criminal counts, including assault, burglary, coercion, kidnapping and robbery, all with use of a deadly weapon. He was sentenced to serve between nine and 33 years at the Lovelock Correctional Center, a medium-security prison, about 90 miles northeast of Reno, NV.

Simpson stated during the parole hearing that he had been reformed: “I have always been a good person but, I must become a better Christian.” Simpson stated.

Social Media was buzzing during the hearing with so many different comments and varied opinions from all.  This is totally understandable given the background of Simpson since the controversial murder trial.

Simpson will apply to live in Florida during his parole term, and has, literally, 2 million dollars in NFL pension money waiting upon his release in October.

Americans will always have a vast amount of opinions regarding OJ Simpson. Nonetheless, he has gone thru the due process of the legal system, and has been awarded probation according to the Laws of the State of Nevada.

Keep in mind, the Goldman and Brown families still have a 33-million-dollar civil suit against Simpson, so no matter what, OJ Simpson’s life will still be somewhat challenging. Simpson will be free, but still has many challenges ahead.
