Allen Iverson returns to Philadelphia for Big 3 game, but doesn’t play

Allen Iverson made his return to the floor at Wells Fargo Center Sunday.

But he didn’t play a minute.

Iverson, a player/coach for 3’s Company, in Ice Cube’s Big 3 League, didn’t play a minute Sunday.

The Associated Press said Iverson said his doctor advised him not to play for unspecified reasons.

Iverson said previously he didn’t plan on extensive playing time in the league, and, thus far, has just six points on 3 of 13 shooting through three games.

Still, Sunday, fans chanted “We want AI!”

And Iverson, who also embraced Julius Erving, the coach of the opposing Tri-State team, took the mic and thanked the Philly fans for their support.
