The reporters who thought they smelled marijuana in the Cleveland Cavaliers’ locker room at Oracle Arena earlier in the NBA Finals will almost certainly be getting a stronger whiff of that aroma at the Golden State Warriors’ practice facility over the course of the coming days.
According to Lee Jenkins of Sports Illustrated, the Marriott hotel which is attached to the Oakland Convention Center, which houses the Warriors’ practice facility on the top two floors of the building, will be hosting the National Cannabis Convention starting on Monday.
When the Warriors return to the Oakland hotel where they practice they will find it has been taken over by the National Cannabis convention.
While it’s highly unlikely that anyone on Golden State’s roster would be distracted by what is going on in the hotel next to their facility, it is one more thing that the Warriors’ will have to block out in order to make sure that they’re fully focused on the task at hand.
Golden State will host Cleveland at Oracle Arena on Monday night with the opening tip scheduled for shortly after 6:00 p.m. PT with ABC handling the national broadcast.
