Pamela Smith Women of Color 2017 Impact Woman of the Year

Pamela Smith was born in 1954 in Cushing, Oklahoma. After graduating from Cushing Senior High School, Smith worked for Gibble Oil Company and Cushing Hospital before moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma.

 

In 1978. Smith began her journey as a successful entrepreneur in Tulsa, establishing Pamela Smith Enterprises, including a successful beauty salon and a noted modeling agency, popularly known as “Pamela’s Pretty Girls.”

 

Smith is the author of Begging for Justice,” drawing national attention about her personal right for rape and abuse behind prison walls. Smith is a well-known motivational speaker for civil and inmate rights. She has been honored by many dignitaries on the national stage, as well as local community service awards.

Smith is founder of Pamela Smith Foundation, Inc. and Resale Shop. They provide services and programs to address inmate needs and facilitate he successful reintegrating of inmates into society.

 

Smith’s husband, Eddie Hathorn and son, Maurice are strong advocates for servicing people in the Tulsa community. Smith stands on faith and God’s Word. She is a member of World One Ministries.
